The Penthouse takes 250 to 300 guests for seated dining, drops to 250 once a dance floor is in, and stretches to 450 for cocktail format. Exclusive booking of the whole rooftop pushes the cocktail ceiling to 500. Smaller seated weddings around 120 to 180 still use the Penthouse without rearrangement; the room scales down through table layout instead of partitioning. Below 100 guests the rooftop deck does most of the work and the indoor portion runs as a backup for weather.
The rooftop deck hosts ceremony with the bay or city skyline behind, depending on which way the celebrant faces. Indoor backup uses the Penthouse loft so the ceremony stays on the same level as reception without a relocation step. There are no garden or chapel options because the venue is a single-floor rooftop; everything sits on one elevation, which keeps timing simple but means weather contingency is the indoor space, not a second outdoor position.

How we’d photograph it

The arrival sequence (street, side door, lift) is part of the Luminare story and only photographs cleanly with morning side-light coming down the alley. Shoot the laneway entrance early in the day.

There's one spot on the south-east of the rooftop where you can frame both bay and city in a single panorama; couples portraits there compress the venue's whole pitch into one image.

Wait for the city lights at blue hour. The Melbourne skyline is the asset Luminare really delivers, and it doesn't show up in daylight shots. A 10-minute portrait window starting 12 minutes after sunset catches the strongest frame of the night.

The Big Group plates with detail that matches the venue's price point, and the Penthouse interior light is steady enough to capture canape work without reaching for flash.
