Perricoota Station is a working property 23km from Moama on the Murray River, with a restored homestead, farmhouse guesthouses, the historic Packing Shed, and 3km of absolute river frontage. The setting is remote enough that the drive is part of the wedding; build the timeline around the property, not around getting people in and out fast.
The Murray is the site’s defining feature and it photographs in the last two hours of the day when the light comes off the water. Anything shot at the river in mid-afternoon fights the flat overhead light on the gum canopy. Get there early, scout the bank, and come back at golden hour.
The homestead verandah is the portrait anchor for the property; it connects the interior character to the surroundings without requiring a long walk. Use it for the couple; the paddock shots with the river red gums in the background need the right light to separate the green from the sky.
On-site accommodation means the day can run later and guests don’t have the time pressure of a long drive home. The reception inside the Packing Shed reads warm under lamp light; plan the party coverage around the actual room light, not supplementing it with harsh flash.
