Why this venue works beautifully
How we’d photograph it
Riverstone is a French Provincial-style homestead in Coldstream. The wrap-around verandah and the floor-to-ceiling French doors are the two frames that define the gallery; build the coverage around them, not the vineyard rows.
The bay windows and pitched ceilings hold the interior light well through the afternoon. Shoot wide inside the dining room so the architecture reads; tight portrait work against the walls loses the soaring ceiling height.
The wrap-around verandah works as the portrait corridor. Late-afternoon light carries through the French doors between the verandah and the interior cleanly; mid-day sun on the verandah columns can blow out exposure.
Capacity runs 30-60 seated or up to 130 cocktail. Micro-weddings of 20-50 work in the smaller dining spaces; larger cocktail counts spread across the verandah and garden frontage.
