Rupert on Rupert is a converted industrial warehouse in Collingwood, inner-city Melbourne, booked exclusively for one wedding per day. The venue was transformed by founders Mali and Ric Corinaldi and keeps the warehouse’s industrial bones visible across the reworked interior. A transparent ceiling over the Conservatory lets daylight in while keeping guests protected from Melbourne’s variable weather.

The Conservatory is the most photogenic space and doubles as the ceremony aisle. The transparent ceiling produces filtered natural light through most of the day, and the exposed brick and industrial finishes provide background depth that dedicated function venues can’t replicate. Shoot ceremony wide to include the ceiling and the brickwork as part of the visual story.

The Main Dining Hall carries the reception and seats up to 80 for shared feasting or holds 200 for cocktail format. The warehouse proportions and the industrial fit-out mean the room photographs strongest once the event fills it and the ambient lighting activates. Early-afternoon empty-hall wides flatten the space; wait for guests, table styling, and evening lighting to bring the volume forward.

Natural light through the Conservatory peaks in the middle of the day and drops into warmer tones through the late afternoon. Collingwood’s inner-city position means no golden-hour landscape exists outside the building; all portrait coverage happens indoors or in the surrounding laneways.
