Werribee Mansion is an 1870s Italianate bluestone mansion at Werribee Park, south-west of Melbourne, operating through Lancemore as a hotel and function venue within the broader heritage estate. Multiple event spaces run across the property: the Theatre handles up to 140 guests with a stage and dance floor; the Pavilion takes up to 110; the Historic Mansion itself holds around 30; the Marquee absorbs over 300; and the Refectory at Werribee Park takes 150 seated with a dance floor or 300 cocktail.
The scale here is different from most Melbourne wedding venues. The formal gardens, the open parkland, and the mansion’s own proportions work at a level that takes planning to meet. Couples wanting heritage-estate wedding format with large-scale capacity use the property well; intimate weddings can also find space in the smaller rooms or the Historic Mansion itself. The multi-space layout gives flexibility across guest counts from 30 up to 450 across the combined venues.

Multiple event spaces run across the property (Theatre, Pavilion, Refectory, Marquee, Historic Mansion). Pick the space that matches the count; mixing coverage across all of them dilutes the gallery’s sense of place.
The formal gardens hold their strongest light in late afternoon. The bluestone facade reads warmest at the same hour; schedule the couple’s portraits across the final hour and a half of direct light.
Indoor spaces photograph flat under mid-day light. Plan the interior reception frames around the evening when the room’s own lighting takes over; the mansion wasn’t built around contemporary flash coverage.
